Science Day

On Monday 12th of May we had an exciting day at school, it was our annual science day. This year’s theme was change and adapt. KS1 students decided to focus on climate change and took part in an experiment to help them understand how different factors (temperature and different materials) can affect the rate that ice melts. Reception focused on the lifecycle of a butterfly. Each year group undertook lots of experiments and really practiced their scientific skills. As you walked around school, you could hear the enthusiasm and excitement from each classroom. At the end of the day, an assembly was held where each class was given the chance to share their findings. Reception acted out the life cycle of a butterfly beautifully and Chestnut class excitedly showed the school the rain cloud in a jar experiment. Rio from Chestnut class, has very kindly written a recount of her day in year 2.
