People Who Help Us - Spring Term 2025

During our 'People Who Help Us' topic, we have been very lucky to have some special visitors come to tell us all about their jobs and how they help people in the community.
Our first visitor was Mr Bidewell, a Police Officer.  He showed us all of the equipment he uses in his job and even let us try on the uniform...it was very heavy !
We also had to solve our own crimes.  Evil Pea had snuck into our classrooms and stole our class teddy's.  We all did some amazing detective work, found our teddy's and put Evil Pea back in the freezer so he couldn't escape again.
Our second visitor was Nurse Karen.  She told us how she helps people to feel better and then put a bandage and a plaster cast on Miss Fry's arm to show how you could fix a broken arm.  We then cut and stuck our own doctors' bags to we could join Zog and the flying doctors on their adventures.  We then thought carefully about who else we could help and wrote a sentence to innovate the story.
During our drama lessons we had loads of fun completing a firefighter in training assault course. 
Our final visitor was Julie, the Dentist.  She taught us how to brush our teeth and gave us all our own toothbrushes to continue the good work at home.
