Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium Funding was introduced in April 2011 to provide additional support for children who are Looked After and those from low income families, including those eligible for free school meals, either currently or within the last 6 years. The Service Child pupil premium is paid to schools for those pupils whose parents are in the armed forces. Once a family is deemed as no longer eligible for Pupil Premium funding, the child will continue to be allocated money for 6 years after this date (Ever 6).
Free School Meals
From September 2026, Free School Meals eligibility has changed nationally.
Some children will qualify for Targeted Free School Meals. This means they receive free school meals and may also attract additional government funding for the school through the Pupil Premium, which enables us to provide extra support, resources and opportunities to help children achieve their best.
Some children will qualify for Expanded Free School Meals. This means they receive free school meals but do not automatically attract Pupil Premium funding.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will continue to receive Universal Infant Free School Meals regardless of household income. However, if you think you may be eligible for Targeted or Expanded Free School Meals, we strongly encourage you to apply. If your child qualifies for Targeted Free School Meals, the school may receive valuable additional funding to support their education, even though your child already receives a free meal through the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.
Families receiving Universal Credit may be eligible, but the type of eligibility depends on household earnings and other qualifying criteria. Full details can be found on the Buckinghamshire Council website:

If your child is joining Manor Farm Community Infant School and Nursery, please complete a Free School Meals application for each eligible child, even if you have previously applied at another school. If you have more than one child attending different schools, each school must hold its own application for that child.
If your child has previously received Free School Meals at another school, please let the School Office know so that we can ensure their entitlement is correctly recorded.
Eligibility is checked annually in line with Department for Education guidance. This does not necessarily mean you will need to complete a new application every year, but we may contact you if updated information is required.

The individual context and demographic of our school has been taken into account when considering how to acknowledge and address potential issues and barriers to learning a child may experience during their time at Manor Farm Community Infant School. The funding is used by school to help narrow the attainment gap between those children eligible to receive additional funding and those who are not eligible. The school decides where and how to best use this funding, to ensure every child reaches their full potential at Manor Farm Community Infant School.
