Our School Values

We launched our new values in January 2025 after consulting with the children who belong to school council, staff, parents and governors.  These values are the foundation of everything we do at our school and play a vital role in shaping a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for every child where ‘Together we Grow’ which is our motto.

Why These Values Matter

Be Kind
We believe that kindness is one of the most powerful qualities a person can show. Teaching children to be kind helps them build strong friendships, develop empathy, and contribute to a school community where everyone feels safe and valued. Acts of kindness also promote positive mental health and resilience in young learners.

Show Respect
Respect is essential for fostering a sense of belonging and harmony. We encourage children to show respect for others, themselves, and the world around them. This includes valuing differences, listening to one another, and treating people and property with care. Respect is a cornerstone for building confidence and helping children grow into thoughtful, responsible members of society.

Achieve Your Best
We want every child to reach their full potential and feel proud of their accomplishments. Encouraging children to do their best – whether in their learning, behaviour, or personal growth – helps them develop a strong sense of self-worth. By celebrating effort and perseverance, we teach children the value of hard work and encourage a love of learning.

How You Can Support These Values

We know that the partnership between school and home plays a huge role in embedding these values into daily life. You can support us by:

  • Talking about the values at home – For example, asking your child how they’ve shown kindness or respect during their day.
  • Modelling these values – Children learn by example, so showing kindness, respect, and perseverance in your daily lives reinforces what we teach at school.
  • Celebrating effort over results – Recognising your child’s hard work, even when things do not go perfectly, helps build their confidence and resilience.
